Joint Aviation Requirements Now in AV-DATA
IHS TransPort Data Solutions republishes JAR's, creating international aviation database
Englewood, Colorado -May 12, 1998- IHS TransPort Data Solutions, an IHS Group company, announced today it will republish the Joint Aviation Requirements (JAR's) in its AV-DATA aviation regulations database.
The JAR's, issued by the Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA), are the European equivalent to the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's), the U.S. laws governing the aviation industry. AV-DATA (www.ihs.com/aviation) is a comprehensive source of over 200,000 pages of vital aviation regulations and related information available on CD-ROM and the Internet.
"Many of our customers, including airlines, manufacturers and repair stations, have operations that require compliance with U.S. and European regulations," stated Tony Martinez, general manager of IHS TransPort Data Solutions. "By adding the JAR's, a company now needs only AV-DATA to comply with these aviation regulations."
AV-DATA provides maintenance, flight operations and training information necessary for successful FAA and JAA compliance that is cross-referenced and searchable in one convenient database. Its content includes complete and current FAR's, JARs, airworthiness directives, notices of proposed rulemakings, advisory circulars, type certificate data sheets, technical standard orders, service difficulty reports, manuals, handbooks and over 75 FAA Orders. The AV-DATA website (www.ihs.com/aviation) also provides crucial daily updates of airworthiness directives and Federal Register entries.
