IHS Aviation Information and the Joint Aviation Authorities Sign Exclusive Data Distribution Agreement

IHS to Provide JAA Documents to Aviation Industry Worldwide

DENVER, November 18, 1999- IHS Aviation Information, an IHS Group company that provides information solutions to the aviation industry, and Global Engineering Documents today announced a five year exclusive distribution agreement with the Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) to provide all JAA documents to the aviation community worldwide beginning in January 2000.

"As a provider of the JAA's Joint Aviation Requirements for the past year and a half, we are very excited to expand our relationship with the JAA to republish their entire collection of aviation information," said Tony Martinez, general manager of IHS Aviation Information, formerly IHS TransPort Data Solutions. "Airlines, manufacturers and repair stations now have a single, reliable source for obtaining JAA and FAA information."

The documents covered under this agreement include the Joint Aviation Requirements, Notices of Proposed Amendments, and the JAA's Administrative and Guidance Material.

"Our goal is to provide the aviation industry with information to make the skies safer," said Inge Steenberg, assistant to the Regulation Director, Joint Aviation Authorities. "We have chosen IHS as the distributor of JAA information because they have a proven history of providing clients with comprehensive products in a timely manner."

Customers will have the option of receiving the data in a variety of formats, including paper, CD-ROM and the Internet. The JAA information can be purchased separately or as part of a subscription to IHS's AV-DATA product, the most comprehensive database of aviation information requirements and regulations.

Global Engineering Documents, another IHS Group company that is the world's largest distributor of hardcopy standards, specifications and other technical publications, will provide the hard copy distribution for IHS Aviation Information.
